Okay, so I know some Eurekans (yes, I’m calling us EUReKA fans that) are annoyed by another time change on the show, but it kinda is a staple on the show. It has always played with time, which gave it a chance to make the show fresh and develop some characters. (I was sad that season 3 didn’t have any time jumps, but season 4 was so awesome, I’ll forgive season 3. Plus, season 3 created the cuteness that is Jo and Zane.) 

In the season 5 premiere, you gotta realise that at the end, the Astraeus crew are kinda in a Matrix-esque world. And Beverly (you betch!) did say something about “the world they created”, so maybe all the changes that happened aren’t real, but somehow the fears that the characters have.

For instance, Allison fears that being napped on the Astraeus means she might not be able to see her kids grow. Zane, on the other hand, fears that Jo might move on from him. Fargo, meanwhile, is afraid that his position will be usurped by someone else. As for Grace, well, she’s just worried that Henry won’t be the same without her. So yeah, that’s my theory.

And this won’t play out the whole season, because from the interviews I read, this whole Matrix/Brave New World thing will only last for 3 episodes. And I think the second episode after the dragons will set up the ending for that….

And for the real Jack, Jo, Henry and others out there, I think they’re living life differently. I have a feeling Jo doesn’t live in Eureka anymore….
